Advancement on Salary Scales

A WASA Member is looking to continue to Educate, Empower, Inspire their district and is looking for information on the following items. Links are great if you have them.

  1. What are your policies about coursework that counts towards advancement on the salary schedule?
  2. Do they need to be educational in nature, or do you accept any advanced coursework in any field?

They all have to be pre-approved. They must be part of a degree, education, coaching, or additional endorsement related.

In addition - we count all courses that the District requests or requires the employee to complete (i.e. Computer Science endorsement courses or ELL certification requirements). Let me know if you have specific questions.

We require pre-approval. The courses must be relevant to the school and district needs. Generally speaking, we ask that it be “in an effort towards a degree or certification” to avoid just any course being taken.

We require pre-approval and courses need to be education related.
