Attendance and Quarantine/Isolation

JoAnne Flanagan (Fremont #25) asked the following questions to the WASA members. Please put your thoughts/practices/ideas in the comments below for future reference.

How are districts going to handle attendance for students who are in quarantine or isolation but participating in classes through zoom and/or virtual classrooms?  CBVE was dropped from Chapter 41 at the end of the school year so in essence, it doesn't exist anymore.  However, we will still have kids in quarantine and isolation that we will require to participate virtually while they are out unless they are too sick.

The state board is working on rules around SEA42, but that deals with a different attendance as part of the required teacher/student contact time, not for ADA/ADM purposes.  Seems as if those should be connected but they aren't...

So I rewatched the video with Shelly and Kari and sort of answered my own question. We can use Virtual, Remote or Homebound as options and have to follow the Chapter 8 Finance Rules for attendance taking..so I am digging into that now.

It is certainly a situation we might all face. Thanks for asking and even answering the question.
